Graduate School Update

Before I bore you with the details of my weekend in St. George,
I wanted to let you all know that Karl has been
accepted to and received grants for

Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff
and
University of Idaho in Moscow.

He was also accepted to University of Queensland
in Brisbane, Australia,
but was unable to get the International Scholarship
he needed for us to live there.
So Australia is out. A dream shattered.
Sad but true. Time to move on.

By the end of this week we will have to decide where to move to:
Moscow or Flagstaff?
It is not as easy as it might seem.
So stay tuned...

wow Congrats! That is exciting! Both of the choices make me sad since then I for sure won't ever get to see you! Remember how we all wanted to marry seminary teachers and live in a cul-de-sac together! oh the good ole days!

Good luck choosing I'm sure that you guys will pick the best place for your family. I know how much you want to go to Idaho =) when do you think you will be moving?

Congrats! Good luck with that decision. Never been to Moscow but Flagstaff is really pretty.

There's my two cents :-)

sad about australia (although cool for everyone else that still get to see you periodically). and cool to get the grants! thinking of you guys, and without knowing any of the information about schools, etc, i bet you pick arizona, just because it's not such a harsh winter (although i know flagstaff does get some winter). :) just my guess. also, i want to talk to you soon about organic foods/cooking, etc.

Can't speak to Flagstaff but I've spent a fair amount of time in Moscow (did my MBA through Univ of Idaho though the actual classes were in Sandpoint, ID). It's a great town, decent weather, somewhat far from civilization (Moscow / Pullman are kind of out on their own). Good luck deciding!

Kjrstin - winter is shorter in Flag, but I wouldn't exactly call it mild, since this winter they got two storms that each left multiple feet of snow on the ground. But the night/day difference is huge, and you get warm days throughout the year which is cool. Good to hear you liked your experience at Moscow, James. I do really like both towns.

I think you will enjoy either place, well maybe thats me. My family learned that you can be happy anywhere (although Melanie struggles with that concept at times) and find good things and good people everywhere you go.

I'll miss you guys (even though we don't see each other that much). When will you be leaving?
