Snow Canyon: Red Rock and Sand Dunes

Wow. March has been crazily busy. This will be the fourth weekend in a row that I am out of town and, while I am loving it and enjoying every minute, I am looking forward to life slowing down a (teeny tiny) bit in April.

Since I was mostly out biking and running while the boys played with Grandma and Grandpa in St. George, I don't have much to say about these awesome pictures! That's a good thing since it's almost bedtime anyway! Just know that they had a lot of fun and thoroughly enjoyed themselves!

Grandma and my boys:

Grandpa looks ready to go on an adventure:

Sanddune digging:

It's a good thing I got to bike and run through Snow Canyon (here). Otherwise I would be jealous. It is a gorgeous place!

There is a beautiful place right outside of St. George where you can overlook the city, hike, climb, explore narrows, and have all sorts of fun:

(Karl may or may not have combed the boys' hair that morning. Who knows...)

Love this picture of Max!

Thank you Karl, Grandma, and Grandpa for creating wonderful memories with Max and Noah. I am sure they will remember this trip for a long time. It's good to know that they are in the best hands when Mama decides that she needs to have some playtime on her own!

Back to WinterWonderLand

Remember my last post? The pictures of the kids having a blast in the outdoor pool? Sunshine and a perfect 70 degrees? Shorts and tan lines?

Well. This is what we got now! 2 feet of snow!!!

We barely made it back home during Sunday's major snowstorm. They had already announced that NAU, all public schools, and pretty much everything else was going to be closed on Monday!

Snow Day!!!

Out day went something like this:

*crepes for breakfast*

*lego fun for hours*

*some cleaning and laundrying*

*snow play*

*Sam's Club for groceries and samples*

 *YMCA*

*more snow play with Papa*

There was almost too much snow! It was extremely difficult to make any sort of path for sledding or skiing. But I was not complaining - the gym was closed all morning, so I figured I might as well get in a workout towing, pulling, digging, flattening, stomping, etc.

Max was trying so hard to make his own path and was (for once) a stud in the snow!

We love the snow! Everything is wrapped in white fluffiness and looks gorgeous!

Visitors are welcome any time! You don't wanna miss out on all this winter fun, do you?

PS: If now I could just figure out a way to sneak away to the Nordic Center and enjoy my favorite kind of cross-training: skate skiing! But, alas, turns out schools are delayed a couple of hours tomorrow and Max will be home all day. Wednesday calls for a long tempo run and I don't think Coach would be too thrilled if I went romping around in the snow instead... I am hoping the snow will stick around for a little longer this time, so there is still hope.

Spring Break Pictures

We are in St. George and it is basically heaven on earth!
I could not be happier
and I think everyone else is having a great time as well!

While I have been swimbikerunning my heart out,
the kids, Karl, Grandma, and Grandpa
have ben having all sorts of fun!
All I have tonight though are some pictures
of Max and Noah enjoying the pool
that is 10 feet from our condo door.

This week has been packed with action
and blogging will have to wait until later...

Still a little cold.
This was at 9 o'clock in the morning.
Luckily, the pool is heated and has a hot tub!

Still loving the underwater action shots!

Fruit bar break!

They've been swimming at least twice a day
and I have been able to join them quite a few times!

Getting a little tired...

(Yep. That is Coach in the background.
He came to check on me and I hope I passed.)

Time flies when you are having fun!
I'd better get to bed and charge my batteries!

Parade, Pirate, and Park

Oh my. This blogging thing is not happening lately.
I have one post in the works but I just can't seem to find the time to finish it.
Racing season is upon us and I am trying hard to go to bed early and get enough rest,
which is not helping the blogging.
So instead of writing a short blog post that then turns into a novel,
I am just going to post some pictures of last weekend's trip to Sedona

While I was out riding and running in the warm sunshine
Karl and the kids went to Sedona's St. Patrick's Day Parade
and had a great time.
Max saw a balloon artist and wished for a pirate hat and sword.
His request was granted, including a belt for the sword,
and Max was thrilled!

The boys spent the rest of the day at one of our favorite parks
- Sunset Park in Sedona.
Not having enough energy (due to sickness) to take them on a hike,
Karl opted for a trip to the store to buy yummy ice cream
once the kids needed a break from playing.
I don't think either of them minded.
But first they had to eat their vegetables:

We are very grateful to live so close to warmer temperatures
and love to break out shorts in February!
I even got sunburned on my legs!
Speaking of warmer temperatures:
Spring Break is almost here and we can't wait to go to St. George
and spend a week playing and exploring with Grandma and Grandpa!
